Social Media Networking - Enforcing security on vulnerable data.

Social Network - powerful verses in every individual professional and personal life. In this corporate world every Internet user urges to build and establish connections with people of shared interest. Social Media has changed the world providing scope to everyone - to express, share ideologies, thoughts, feelings with friends and peers. It also offers important business benefits to enterprises and organizations. Though it is a boon to the Internet world it mulcts the benefits by exposing confidential information to cyber criminals and hackers. Disclosing sensitive information and malware are maximum risks evolved in Social Media.
Robustly built Social Media Security Policies will address concern like authentication, authorization, data integrity, phishing, Injection flaws, XSS. Having these set of policies in place Social networking sites face a big challenge in making the end users to addict them, users are aware of these policies but often they neglect to secure their data information. 

a.   Watch for all the skeptical links and scams posted in these social networking sites. Just because these malicious links are posted by friends doesn’t really mean it’s real them, it can be an attack from cyber criminals.
b.   Always use HTTPS on any social networking sites; secured protocol establishment will enhance the security on user’s data.
c.   Be cautious of shortened URL’s, on click of these URL’s will easily redirect to malicious sites.
d.  Beware of emails that states it comes from social networking site; it can be hoaxed from hackers to steal personal information.
e. Never intend to publish any security breach information in social networking sites.

Social Networking sites are valuable for sales and marketing promotional for Organizations and information centric and fun diversions to communicate with the world for Individuals. Adopting security and establishing best standardized practices are the steps to protect data information from all the hoaxes.
